Marie Chapdelaine quitte son village rural du Québec et se rend à Montréal pour retrouver son père bûcheron qui a disparu il y a sept ans. Marie rencontre Armand, un ancien ami de son père propriétaire d'un bar country et western appelé le Rodeo Club.
